Rooms of Their Own

In a game of musical chairs, the musician owners of this house first turned over their respective rooms, a study and a studio, to their daughters.  They then replaced their old rooms with new additions.

The new, second floor, tower-like addition is a writer’s  retreat wrapped with sunny windows.  It marks and protects the main entrance below.

The extension of the first floor music studio addition gives it acoustic separation from the house.  The location also makes it easy for visiting musicians to carry in their instruments for group practice
